Career Guidance is one of the major activities undertaken by the Department of General Education - Higher Secondary Education Wing to guide the students in selecting the apt courses and careers. We provide many programs to help higher secondary students in Kerala.
To enable the students to prudently plan a career of their own by pursuing the right course to their aim. These programs can help the students identify their strength and weakness to set the right goal in their career. These well structured programs will help them to identify the new career role in local and Global Industries.
A special programme for civil service aspirants in a developing country like India. In association with Kerala state civil service academy had conducted an orientation programme for the higher secondary students who are aspirants of civil services for the last 5 years. Four days residential programme is planned as part of the programme.
Activities of Department of General Education - Higher Secondary Education Wing will be implemented through Career Guidance units of Higher Secondary Schools. They should be updated on modern trends in careers and courses in order to implement the activities effectively in the school. One day Empowerment had been conducting for the Career Guides.
In order to face the shortage of experts, the department decided to equip the interested teachers to take the class on career guidance. Training will be provided to 45 Career Guides with the representation from every education district.
During the admission period the Help Desk named “FOCUS POINT” functions in Taluk centres for guiding the students in selecting the subject combination for their studies, supporting the students in online submission of applications, etc. Two trained career guides takes charge of FOCUS POINT in each centre.
In order to reduce the stress related to exams, Department of General Education - Higher Secondary Education Wingl have supported such students through practical advice and guidance on how to moderate the effects of stress and to cope up with the exam. A toll-free number facility was established at DHSE during examination periods.

An initiative from the part of Higher Secondary Students in Artistic Rejuvenation. It helps to nurture the artistic talents of the students in a systematic way. SITAR aims for the overall development of the students through artistic skills. Students will be provided training on any of the artistic skills under SITAR through schools.
Know Thy Self is a health programme which will be conducted in all Souhrida clubs. The aim of the camp is to help the students to know themselves- their physical and emotional development. Awareness of Reproductive Health and Mental Health will be arranged for all students of the school.
